Rock For Health3
No one likes it when a band has to cancel a show or even worse a whole tour, or what about when a member of your favorite band has to quit the band due to medical reasons. Well that’s where Kristina Grossmann stepped in. Dedicated to helping her friends in the music community continue to do what they do best she founded Rock for Health, a non- profit dedicated to informing and educating artists on current health issues and to give them all the information they may need to be healthy while on the road playing shows for all of us. Grossmann created this amazing organization because she was tired of the way the artists in the music industry were treated, including herself. Because their Label considers them temporary employees, musicians often do not get the medical treatment that they require because they do not have health insurance. I find it quite a shame that the reason the people at these record labels have jobs is because they are artists yet the artists aren’t given the proper benefits to continue their careers in case of a medical emergency. Kristina Grossmann and Rock for Health have done an amazing thing by making the information for health insurance accessible to the music community. Rock for Health gives kids the opportunity to sponsor their favorite bands health care and keep them on the road doing what they do best. It’s quite a unique thing that fans of bands can do to give back to the bands that write the soundtrack to our lives. Go to www.rockforhealth.org and make a donation in any amount to help keep this amazing organization growing, all donations will go toward monthly health care fees, putting on benefit shows, pre-existing health crisis and towards sponsoring research. Kristina Grossmann is proof that anyone can make a difference in this world all it takes is a determination and hard work. Keep the music coming by keeping those bands healthy guys.
